Here we go again!

So our last event shocked us by being so popular!

it went from a small group of 20 to almost 500!

And even now we are getting comments about the day and requests for another one

Due to the need to expand, we have gone for a bigger and better venue

so this year we have a small fee of £3.30p (carers free)

to help cover costs

we are a non profit company, and are only charging to help us cover costs of the venue

if we could do it free we would, but a venue like this does not come cheap!

there will be a lockable changing room for costumers - bigger than before (with jaffa cakes)

we hope to hold a live video feed on the day which will be projected onto the screen on stage

Costumers

We are open to everyone and anyone

who does not mind being touched by visually impaired people

so please spread the word

as for us the magic is purely between the guys that attend and the costumers

so the more we have the better, spiderman, batman, superman, ironman, starwars, Dr who,horror, everything and anything

we are on the look out for vehicles, droids, larger props that can be touched with supervision

we have LOTS of room, so as long as the cost is cheap or free we will consider it

As a lot of you mentioned to me after our last event the visually impaired people that came touch to see, they are very gentle and are all aware of how much items like this cost, they do not feel to see how strong something is!!

we will also have a handle area with touch tables and smells as before as this was very popular

we are still toying with celebrities, Warwick has been invited as he has supported my work from the beginning and will hopefully attend, work permitting but as for anyone else we are not sure yet

Sensory Legion - onward and upwards

Hi everyone,

Just to keep you all up to speed!

Since the huge response to FEEL THE FORCE DAY

we will hopefully be making these events yearly.

You will be able to follow our progress online on Facebook at either extreme clowning or 1st sensory legion.

The event in Peterborough started off very small, and had no intention of becoming as big as it has - originally there was no more than 20 guests - now we have roughly 400 coming!

Our mission is to try and keep everything accessable as we can, we will try and provide costumes and props that can be touched, and a disabled friendly venue.

For me it is not about making money, i am not interested in the commercial side - this is why i dont have any trading stalls.

Its about creating access to the important things - such as the costume characters and the celebs.

Lucasfilm are aware of our event - but have told me that if we decide to hold another one similar i would have to go through them.

We dont have money to pay for liscensing, and to have an event like this defeats the whole object.

So in future the events will be mixed - ie star wars, dr who, star trek etc etc etc

Please spread the word to costumers - as we will need a good mix of the weird and wonderful to help the sevice users discovers things that we all love so much.

It amazes me that some of this stuff goes undiscoverd.

Feel the force day, has attracted so many different people aged from 4 - 80

some love star wars

some have never heard of it

80% have NEVER been to a convention or anything like this

and at least 10 guys in wheelchairs that are coming hate star wars but will be there for the bar and the slave Leia bikini!

 Jimmy spent most of this act trying to work out how the see saw was working!

he had seen one before but it was not until after when i got to show him, that he realised how the see saw works as a lever to fire the other person in the air

So this became a huge learning process

Although the fact that they stripped down to lycra g strings sort of won the day - he found this most amusing!

Jimmy was able to hear some of this through his hearing aids.

The odd mix of music and noises worked really well for him and he was able to pick up quite a lot of it - plus we was allowed to feel the instruments / vehicle at the end of the performance

 I love how much Jimmy loves visual comedy

Even at times when its very manic and there is physically to much going on for me to interpret everything

whatever i tell him, he loves, being hit or falling over, food in the face or even being licked!

this was fun to interpret and expanded jimmys world of clowning

So nice to be able to follow up the show by getting to feel items that maybe new to jimmy to help him create a better picture
